Ingredients

Scale

Truffle Base

  • 1 box of Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes (5 cakes)

Coating

  • 8 ounces white chocolate or candy melts

Decoration

  • 3 tablespoons Festive sprinkles
  • 3 tablespoons Red candy melts (for drizzling, optional)
  • Green sanding sugar for decoration

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cake Base: Remove the five Christmas Tree Cakes from their packaging and place them in a large mixing bowl. Crumble the cakes thoroughly using your hands or a fork until the texture is fine and evenly crumbled.
  2. Melt the White Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, gently melt the 8 ounces of white chocolate or candy melts in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until completely smooth and melted without burning.
  3. Combine Cake and Chocolate: Pour the melted white chocolate over the crumbled cake mixture. Using a spatula or spoon, mix thoroughly until the cake crumbs are fully coated and the mixture starts to hold together.
  4. Form the Truffles: Using your hands or a small scoop, shape the mixture into small ball shapes, approximately 1 inch in diameter. Place the formed truffles on a parchment-lined tray or baking sheet.
  5. Chill the Truffles: Refrigerate the cake balls for at least 30 minutes to firm up, making them easier to decorate.
  6. Decorate the Truffles: Once chilled, either dip the truffles in additional melted white chocolate or drizzle melted red candy melts over them for contrast. Immediately sprinkle with festive sprinkles and green sanding sugar while the coating is still wet to ensure decoration sticks well.
  7. Final Setting: Return the decorated truffles to the refrigerator for another 15-20 minutes until the coating is fully set and firm.
  8. Serve and Enjoy: Remove the truffles from the refrigerator shortly before serving to allow them to reach room temperature for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • If you prefer a richer flavor, substitute white chocolate with milk or dark chocolate.
  • Red candy melts drizzle is optional but adds an attractive festive touch.
  • Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • For a firmer texture, let truffles chill overnight before decorating.
  • These truffles can be wrapped individually for gifting during the holiday season.
