Ingredients

Scale

Crust

  • 50 Oreo cookies
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted

Filling

  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened (room temperature)
  • 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 2 (8 ounce) tubs Cool Whip
  • 2 (3.4 ounce) packages instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 ½ cups 2% milk

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust: Crush the Oreo cookies finely using a food processor or by placing them in a sealed bag and crushing with a rolling pin. Mix the crushed Oreos with the melted unsalted butter until well combined. Press this mixture evenly into the bottom of a 9×13 inch dish to form the crust.
  2. Make the cream cheese layer: In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and confectioners’ sugar together until smooth and creamy. Gently fold in one tub of the Cool Whip until fully incorporated. Spread this mixture evenly over the Oreo crust layer.
  3. Prepare the pudding: In a separate large bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mixes with the 2½ cups of 2% milk according to package instructions until thickened, about 2 minutes. Let it sit for a few minutes to set.
  4. Assemble pudding layer: Fold the second tub of Cool Whip gently into the set chocolate pudding until combined. Spread this pudding layer evenly over the cream cheese layer in the dish.
  5. Chill and serve: Refrigerate the assembled dessert for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to allow the layers to set and flavors to meld. Serve chilled, optionally garnishing with additional crushed Oreos or chocolate shavings.

Notes

  • Ensure the cream cheese is softened to room temperature for smooth mixing without lumps.
  • Use a 9×13 inch dish for best layering and serving sizes.
  • For an extra crunchy topping, reserve some crushed Oreos to sprinkle on top before serving.
  • This dessert can be made a day ahead for convenience.
  • Keep refrigerated until serving as it is a no-bake chilled dessert.
