Dip Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh or frozen peas
- 1/2 cup fresh mint leaves
- 1 small red chilli, deseeded for less heat (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- Salt to taste
- 1–2 tablespoons water (optional, for blending)
- Prepare Ingredients: If using frozen peas, thaw them by placing them in warm water for a few minutes or boiling briefly. Rinse fresh mint leaves and roughly chop the chilli, removing seeds if you prefer a milder dip.
- Blend Ingredients: In a blender or food processor, combine the peas, mint leaves, chilli, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt. Blend until smooth, adding water as needed to reach your desired consistency.
- Adjust Seasoning: Taste the dip and adjust salt, lemon juice, or chilli according to your preference.
- Chill and Serve: Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to enhance flavors and serve chilled.
Notes
- This dip is best served chilled but can be served immediately if needed.
- Adjust the amount of chilli to control spice level.
- Use fresh peas when in season for best flavor; frozen peas provide convenience without compromising taste.
- Pairs beautifully with pita bread, crackers, vegetable sticks, or as a spread on sandwiches.
