Slow Cooker Beef & Noodles is a comforting and hearty dish featuring fall-apart tender beef chuck roast slow-cooked in a savory broth with onion soup mix and Worcestershire sauce, combined with egg noodles for a satisfying, easy dinner perfect for busy days.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 23 lbs beef chuck roast
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste
  • 12 oz egg noodles

Optional Garnishes

  • Fresh parsley
  • Grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Beef: Season the beef chuck roast generously with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Place it in the slow cooker to form the base of the dish.
  2. Create the Base: Pour in 4 cups of beef broth, add 1 packet of onion soup mix, and 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce. Stir gently to combine the liquids around the beef evenly.
  3. Slow Cook: Cover the slow cooker and cook the beef on low for 8 hours or on high for 4-5 hours until it is tender and easily shredded with a fork.
  4. Cook the Noodles: About 30 minutes before the beef is done, cook the egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside to be added later.
  5. Shred the Beef: Use tongs or forks to shred the beef directly in the slow cooker. Stir the shredded beef to mix thoroughly with the broth and seasonings.
  6. Combine the Noodles: Add the cooked egg noodles into the slow cooker, gently stirring to coat the noodles in the rich beef broth. Let the mixture warm through for 10-15 minutes.
  7. Serve: Serve the beef and noodles hot, optionally garnished with fresh parsley or grated Parmesan cheese for extra flavor and presentation.

Notes

  • Chuck roast is ideal but brisket or stew meat can also be used.
  • For a thicker sauce, mix 1 tablespoon cornstarch with 2 tablespoons cold water and stir into the slow cooker before adding noodles; simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  • Adding vegetables like carrots, celery, or mushrooms boosts flavor and texture.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Freeze beef and broth separately from noodles to avoid mushy pasta.
