Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken and Sauce

  • 1 lb chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1/2 tsp red chili flakes (optional)
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

For the Noodles and Garnish

  • 8 oz noodles (rice noodles or egg noodles)
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sauce: In a bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, red chili flakes, and cornstarch. Mix well until smooth and set aside.
  2. Cook the Noodles: Bring a large pot of water to a boil and cook the noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. Cook the Chicken: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the chicken pieces and stir-fry until they turn golden brown and are cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Add the Sauce: Pour the prepared sauce over the cooked chicken in the skillet. Stir continuously until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken fully, becoming sticky and glossy, about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Toss Noodles with Chicken: Add the cooked noodles to the skillet with the sticky garlic chicken. Toss everything together gently, ensuring the noodles are evenly coated with the flavorful sauce.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat and sprinkle chopped green onions and sesame seeds over the top for an added crunch and burst of flavor. Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

  • For a gluten-free version, use tamari or a gluten-free soy sauce and rice noodles.
  • You can substitute chicken with tofu or shrimp for variations.
  • Adjust honey and chili flakes to your preferred sweetness and heat level.
  • Make sure to cook the chicken thoroughly before adding the sauce to avoid undercooking.
  • If sauce thickens too much, add a small splash of water to loosen it.
